Hi,
I just get a WU 5.55: 1l2x__BOINC_INCREASE_CYCLES10_RNA_ABINITIO-1l2x_-_1868_11_0

It starts crunching with a % in Progress = 100%. But it continues to crunch.
The screen saver is normal except that the % is written : 1 then 00000000.... through the entire screen.

I have a WU: JUMPTEST_POSERELAX_VARY_BOND_ANGLES_1tul__1336_32_0 (5.31)

stuck at 1% - Model 1 - Step 360000 for 20 minutes. Then starts working.

After 45 minutes: step 360131 but still at 1%. Don't know if it's normal or not.

Theirry, the "no finished file" message means the manager temporarily lost track of the daemon. The daemon (which actually controls the work) should have kept running. It's just reporting the manager (the part you see) lost contact.

tony

OK... and that's why the Calculation time drop from 32 minutes to 18 minutes?

I just had something strange (in my point of view) with the unit 1hz6A_CONTROL_ABRELAX_SAVE_ALL_OUT__1256_1_0

Windows XP pro sp2
P4 3.0 HT
RAM 1Gb

Here what I can see:
It was crunching a Ralph WU & a Leiden WU

The Ralph WU was running for +/- 16 minutes at 1.043%. Then the percentage done jump to 7.403%
At around 32 minutes of crunching, the BOINC manager frozen:
CPU activity: 2/3%
RAM: drop from 1.22 Gb to +/- 930 Mb

ANd this during +/- 2 minutes, with the following message in the BOINC manager:

Then the Wu restarted but with the Calculation time back to 18 minutes (and still at 7.043)

Now the WU is again around 32 minutes with 11.52% completed + CPU 100% and RAM 1.03 Gb. It seems it runs normally now.

Hope this can help in something

But some people use the optimized client to compensate some low credits due to this or that. So a new credit system and a credit recalulation from February shouldn't change their results that much. They would be happy to have finally the real credits for the work done......

David,
Do whatever you want, as far credits are fair for everyone it's OK for me. There are +/- 76000 users registered at Rosetta. We only hear here a few who want keep their credits at any price. We never hear the 76000 minus a few.

Just a question: what are you in the real life? Teacher in some subjects? Because your explanations are always so clear and understandable, it's a pleasure to read you.

That seems OK to me. And with this you know exactly what you have done (as Seti Classic did).

The principle seems OK but... I have not followed all the discussions and there is something I don't understand very well.
I take an example:
- I have one PC which runs Rosetta with a 'Target CPU run time' of 10 hours. The current running WU runs for 9 hours and have 143 models. So it will be something like 318 credits for 10 hours.
- I have another PC with a 'Target CPU run time' of one day. The current WU runs for 2.5 hours and have now 5 models. That's something like 96 credits for 24 hours.
Isn't that strange?

In fact it was on 'Home' because I didn't realize the project has created new Hosts ID when I detached/attached. So I merged the computers, set venue on work, update the project, set project on 'Use preferences...' and everything is running smoothly (except there's no work ;-)).
I really need to think a little bit more before shooting.
Thanks everybody

OK it works. Well I'm attached to the project and the others projects are still running. There's no work for the moment but as soon there's work I suppose it will start crunching.
Am I supposed to leave it on 'Run always'? Is it required by the project for the moment or it will change?
Thanks anyway.

Hi,
I just join the project and at the moment I attached the Boinc manager, I got 2 Ralph WUs which crashes a standard Rosetta WU with an unexpectable error and suspend all activities until I detach from the project.
What's up doc?
