I got two of these tasks from Ralph. Both are consuming about 900M of memory as they run on Windows 7. Two v4.07 tasks from R@h have a max working set of 400M with current working set closer to 200M.

By limiting the number of tasks per core, they are spreading the work across more machines and getting a more representative sampling on how the BOINC community gets along with the new code, what problems are encountered etc.

Graphics just crashes on Windows. Window starts to open and then dies.

And shortly thereafter, BOINC seems to lose control of the process and it no longer gets CPU time, even though BOINC Manager says it is running.

Rosetta is down right now, so there must be some new hardware problems in Seattle today. I can't upload either.

What information do you need to help debug this problem.

I would think they would at least like to know the task name. Was the 75hrs CPU time? Or "elapsed" time? Is the task manager showing it getting CPU?

Please explain more about "nifty new threading mode" when you get a chance. Is this something we will see in the graphic? Or pursuing multiple models simultaneously? Or what? Will it take more memory to run?

Have Rosetta@home and Ralph@home switched roles in which of them tests new versions of applications first? I've already received several minirosetta 1.65 workunits from Rosetta@home, without seeing any sign that there have been any Ralph@home tests of that version at all.

INteresting... me too ... I wonder if they just screwed the version number where 1.65 is 1.64 with a new dress ...

They had to correct the upload problems

If you go to the homepage of both Ralph and Rosetta and click the "applications" link, you can see it was posted to Ralph first.

WinXP, BOINC 5.10.45
this task called broker_lb_test3_hb_t288__IGNORE_THE_REST_9374_4_0 had a 24hr runtime preference, but ended after only 3hrs with these msgs:
ERROR: pose.fold_tree().is_cutpoint( *it )
ERROR:: Exit from: ....srcprotocolstopology_brokerTopologyBroker.cc line: 560

It finished as a "valid" "success" and so was not resent to get a second opinion on whether or not it would fail elsewhere.

I've had a number of WUs with names like this:
rest3d85_ip40_2g3r.patchdock.3.pdb_0002_fa_dock.xml_score12_pert38_DOCK_9104

All 4 ran through 99 models in just 3hours. That will throw off work fetch for folks on Rosetta with longer runtime preference.

In each case, when your task failed another task was generated for the work unit, and the next person was able to run it without error.

Seems to point to some problem on your machine. Overclocking? Dust bunnies clogging cooling system? Memory failing?

The protein seemed to slip off the pane too. I just saw black until it later came in to view.

this mamaln task was preempted at like 98% complete. When BOINC got back to it, it immediately (16 seconds later) finished. No other suspicious messages about the task.

Status page shows scheduler is active, but I'm getting these when I try to update.
Scheduler request failed: Server returned nothing (no headers, no data)

A few tasks lately have produced large outfiles, and ended prematurely (as compared to my 24hr runtime preference). Presumably due to the 99 model limit. But I thought you would want to be aware of them.

runtime !result size !task
11:41 !1.6MB !1343012
10hrs !unknown !1339103
21:41 !2.56MB !1343325

These are all the loopbuild tasks of various flavors.

This one had a result file over 1MB. It's name is cc_2_2_mamcstmix_cen_bounded_0.1_hb_t311__ IGNORE_THE_REST_1B0NA_6_8133_1_0
It also ended after under 15 hrs on my 24hr preference. Looks like it hit the 99 model limit.

I believe it is all part of the open source that comes with BOINC.

Here's a couple of links to get you started:

BOINC source
Forum doc

In your case, you are going to have to pull the forum code out of the rest of the BOINC server it was designed to live with. Assuming that is all you want. But it's all in there somewhere.

"...it does" what when maximized? Scale properly? My "square" boxes still aren't square, they are short by the thickness of the titlebar.
