1) Message boards : Number crunching : Reached daily quota of n results (Message 5229)

Post:

I assume that this happens on those among your computers that display quite a few "Compute errors".
The server limits your downloads until your computers have "proven themselves" by crunching the downloaded tasks successfully. If they manage to do so, your quota will increase.

But this rule, with ralph, has no sense. Ralph, by definition, makes a lot of "compute errors"....

BOINC doesn't take this into consideration. As far as it is concerned an error is an error.

This site is designed to find and rectify any problems before the work units are sent to R@H. Don't expect to have all the work units working properly. If they do then it is a bonus!

I wouldn't be surprised if there is going to be a chorus of complaints from the Rosetta users about the way these fcDE-W3.. units are hogging the hard drive. I have found that if you want to open files, access the internet etc you have to put boinc on snooze because the hard drive is otherwise occupied. The task manager shows the processors changing from 0 to 100% at very frequent intervals. In the past the indicator show a steady 100%. To top it all, the validation error is still staying at a constant 100%.

Most of my recent work is going to waste because of Validate Errors.

Your work is not going to waste. The object of Ralph is to test work units. "To test" means that you have to accept some failures even if it is due to the server.

I have had 10 tyrsim_3gbn fail to validate. 3 passed on a second machine and the jury is still out on one of them.

No doubt a new batch will be sent out once the validate problem has been corrected.

Yes, something is not right. I have sent in over a page load of successful results and can't find them on 'my tasks'. No doubt they are hiding somewhere.

One checkpoint arrived at 03:47 and the work unit is now 04:08 with 83% completed - Model 0 Step 6.
The other is 04:36 with 92% completed without a checkpoint. Model 0 Step 6

I'm in the middle of running some lr5_score12_gb_run01_rlbd_work units. The first two of them have been running about three hours and the graphics show model 0 step 3 (or 4) with about 60% complete. They still seem to be working at the present moment but the big problem is that there is no checkpoint. People will not be happy if they lose 4-5 hours work when they shut down.

I am slowly working my way through the frb_0_8_cl_1... work units. No problems so far but I fear the lack of checkpoints will create a few complaints. So far on the long running models I am at aound 4 hours without a checkpoint.

Errors with both the above. There is a 50% chance it was an operator induced error as they both occurred after I rebooted the computer.

I noticed that graphics are corrupted in both two currently crunching work units.

I concur with that on the 1.62. It is even worse than the 1.61. I am also running the Rosetta@home with perfect graphics so it is not my machine at fault.
