Message 5895 - Posted: 9 Oct 2015, 13:52:23 UTC - in response to Message 5887.

There is lots of compute power in RALPH to bug-out any problems that come from using SSE/SSE2 (thought technically there shouldn't be any, since 99% of users are using SSE2 capable CPUs).

I would extend that to 99.9%

Eliminating an non-SSE2 version of Rosetta would eliminate Pentium 3 and Athlon XP or earlier CPUs, so I'd guess less than 0.1% of output.

In Linux libglut.so.3 errors all over the place, perhaps looking in wrong directory?

I just updated to 3.64. This includes a fix for libglut.

This update includes a bug fix for our patch dock protocol which fixes the output format which was causing validation errors. It also includes support for much smaller fragment files which we will integrate into our pipelines to significantly decrease bandwidth usage. Since this is a full update to the latest Rosetta source, it may also include new protocols and other various updates.

I've been too busy to look into optimizations. We do have one volunteer helping us out however. I'll keep you all posted if anything develops.

All of my jobs are failing....

EDIT: ../../projects/ralph.bakerlab.org/minirosetta_beta_3.64_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu: error while loading shared libraries: libGLU.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Oh, for crying out loud, please provide a 64-Bit binary.

And eliminating an non-SSE3 version of Rosetta would also eliminate Pentium 3, Athlon XP or earlier CPUs plus the very first Athlon64 and Opteron64 CPUs (pre Venice Stepping E3 and San Diego Stepping E4), so I'd guess less than 0.2% of output.

I'll test a 64bit linux build. Should come up shortly.

I didn't mean to be rude, it's just when you install the 32-Bit version of libglu1-mesa, apt-get will install >50MB worth of 32-Bit libraries as dependencies.

That kinda sucks. I installed the libraries but I can't get more jobs from ralph because "Fr 09 Okt 2015 23:45:32 CEST | ralph@home | (reached daily quota of 8 results)"

I just updated the 64bit linux app. Please let me know how it goes as there might still be compatibility issues with the glut, GL, GLU libraries etc...

Got a bunch of WUs today(Beta 3.63, on Windows 8.1/64) and while the first one finished fine, with the rest it seems the "same old same old" starts:
They will run for a while, then CPU time will stop increasing, at some point the job still shows "running" but no ETA time (just "-----") until they will crap out with a "Computation error" after blocking anything else on the host for hours, and no credit given either.

Again, these are Beta 3.63 WUs, on Windows 8.1/64, 8GB of RAM, BOINC agent v7.6.9...

I did not get a chance to do that, at least this time around. In the past, I mentioned this a few times that I had the same issue, but with each batch of WUs, it's the same spiel. Out of a dozen or so beta WUs, taking up days of compute time, blocking other projects, only two WUs finished and got credited.
I really don't know if any of the developers are actually paying attention, at least none of them seems to be posting in here... :-(

Why 3.64 if 3.65 is out?

Good morning to all...

I have three 3.64 tasks at 100% after more than five hours, but not closing. Remaining time is ---, but they continue running. Please, should I keep them or abort them?

Many thanks,
Valter.

I would exit BOINC and restart it in that situation rather than aborting them.
