Is there a max time set for Ralph WU-s? Anders n |

You can specify a max time for yourself, but RALPH/ROSETTA will always finish at least one run, even if takes longer than what you specify. --- bt |

That's probably a good thing. A FACONTACTS_NOFILTERS WU I have is only 4.85% complete at 16.5 hours! It's still ripping through stepping on the first model so all should be well (I hope!). |

Not sure anyone has run into it, but with a 4 day setting, I would imagine there could come a point where one runs out of models in a given WU? On the HDLBR, at a 4 hour setting, I got 48+ models complete (48 when I last checked it, and it ran a bit over). This was on an Athlon 64 3500+... At an 8 hour setting, the FACONTACTS got through about 60 or so models when I last checked, don't remember exactly... Which of course brings up 1 other thing with a 4 day setting, the variability in processor speed from say an Athlon FX 60! down to some Pentium II and IIIs, if anyone has attached any of those to this project. Not sure if they have... |

Is 32 hours actual CPU processing time to reach 8.31% a bit much? This is a v4.99 WU (FACONTACTS_NOFILTERS_1scjB_381_7) that isn't stuck but seems to be taking forever! I have suspended other projects to allow it to focus exclusively on this WU, so there's no switching back and forth to disrupt it. If these are just large WU's I'll let it run, but I'd like to know when to cut my lossess if there's something wrong! |

4.99 seems to have a problem in that multiple models will finish (you can see the red dots in the graphics), yet it will still say "model 1". I had them running over 48 hours before I finally gave up and aborted them. (2 running and 1 waiting) (yes they were also the "FACONTACTS" WU's.) |

The "models" are just runs starting at a different random point on the protein. So, no, you can't run out of them. We are a user-base aren't even running in to each other very often, that's how large the number of models is. That's part of the point, you can't process enough of the possible models on one machine, so the work is distributed to thousands. The WU time preference is based on the CPU time you've crunched on a WU, so the processor speeds don't matter. You just still have to complete at least one model, and on slower processors, that will more frequently take longer than a short 4hr run time. So, 4 days is 4 days, and a P II is going to get fewer models done in 4 days than a P4, and... that's... O. K. |

Hi guys, thanks for posting. 4.99 has a known problem, in which jobs get hung. Can you abort these workunits? Also, please post if you are having any similar issues with 5.00 or 5.01 WUs. We really need to know about them! Is 32 hours actual CPU processing time to reach 8.31% a bit much?
