I can't seem to 'report' finished work tonite. Wu's upload ok, and change to ready-to-report status, but the handshake to 'report' the unit dies with:
Scheduler request failed: HTTP internal server error.

You're not the only one. I'm getting the same error.

Me too and some of the new webpages are kind of mixed up. ;)
The server status page says everything is running fine.

Error message "No Schedulers Responded" when reporting results, unable to report over 30 WU results, has been happening for over 15 hours.

RALPH@home project team please check your computers, they show as all ok but obviously are not 100%.

I'm having problems reporting work as well, but uploading wu's ok. Started last night with this:
08/10/2006 08:19:18 PM|ralph@home|Temporarily failed upload of 1fsv__BOINC_ABRELAX_SAVE_ALL_OUT_BARCODE__1114_13_0_0: transient upload error

then this:
08/10/2006 08:36:08 PM||Couldn't connect to hostname [ralph.bakerlab.org]
08/10/2006 08:36:10 PM|ralph@home|Scheduler request to https://ralph.bakerlab.org/ralph_cgi/cgi failed with a return value of -106
08/10/2006 08:36:10 PM|ralph@home|No schedulers responded
08/10/2006 08:37:32 PM||Couldn't connect to hostname [ralph.bakerlab.org]
08/10/2006 08:37:35 PM|ralph@home|Scheduler request to https://ralph.bakerlab.org/ralph_cgi/cgi failed with a return value of -106
08/10/2006 08:37:35 PM|ralph@home|No schedulers responded

currently getting this:
08/11/2006 11:18:27 PM|ralph@home|Scheduler request to https://ralph.bakerlab.org/ralph_cgi/cgi failed with a return value of 500
08/11/2006 11:18:27 PM|ralph@home|No schedulers responded

I have a GenuineIntel Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 - M CPU 2.00GHz with 768 MB running Win2K Pro SP4. Currently running BONIC v5.2.13, RALPH rosetta_beta 5.25, with several other projects as well.

Hope this helps...

I suspect their server is overwhelmed. I see the following transaction taking place when I tried to upload a wu:

Notice how it failed once, but succeeded on the second effort? 106 is an error returned by the Ralph server (apache) when it fails for some reason to secure a connection session for you.

To ensure you can reach Ralph and know the problem isn't between you and ralph or a firewall issue, open a command prompt window. (Start, all programs, accessories, COMMAND PROMPT)type in "tracert 140.142.20.204" (without quotations) and hit enter. What you should see is it making a number of hops accross the web until it gets to Ralph. If it stops at the first hop outside your network and you have an adsl connection, then it's likely your ISP has ICMP pings turned off at the CO (central office, a box by the roadside that your copper wires go to). I can't show you a "good" version of what it looks like since my ISP blocks ICMP. But if it gets there than you know it's likely a ralph server that's dropping your connections.

Note: this is the addy of the upload server

I don't have any problems to ping or to traceroute to ralph.bakerlab.org. Also there is no problem to access the website showing this headers:

Response Headers - https://ralph.bakerlab.org/

Date: Sat, 12 Aug 2006 10:39:29 GMT
Server: Apache/2.0.54 (Fedora)
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.0.4
Connection: close
Transfer-Encoding: chunked
Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8

200 OK

But this is my sched_reply_ralph.bakerlab.org.xml:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, root@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
------------------------------------
Apache/2.0.54 (Fedora) Server at ralph.bakerlab.org Port 80

Because BOINC is connecting to a CGI-script at ralph, the error is probably there:

12/08/2006 10:45|ralph@home|Sending scheduler request to https://ralph.bakerlab.org/ralph_cgi/cgi

A HTTP request to ralph.bakerlab.org/ralph_cgi/cgi results in:

<scheduler_reply>
<scheduler_version>505</scheduler_version>
<master_url>https://ralph.bakerlab.org/</master_url>
<request_delay>242.400000</request_delay>
<message priority="low">Incomplete request received. </message>
</scheduler_reply>
<HTML><HEAD><META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="0;URL=../"></HEAD><BODY>

You seem to be viewing this page in a WWW browser. Visit the <a href="../">main page</a>.

</BODY></HTML>

This means to me, that the scheduler is running.
With the upcoming of this error about 41h ago, the first message was:

10/08/2006 19:25|ralph@home|Reporting 1 tasks
10/08/2006 19:25|ralph@home|Scheduler request succeeded
10/08/2006 19:25|ralph@home|Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance
10/08/2006 19:25|ralph@home|Project is down

At that time, or a bit later, the changing of the web pages startet. There are two new columns now, showing 'classic' RAC and TC. I think together with that they are changing the coding of the validator to show the new model based credits and the old time/benchmark based ones. So I guess thats the place the errors are located.

But what makes me wonder is the fact, that some users get there results reported, as you can see in the statistics. Everyone with a value other than '0' in the 'Recent average work credit' and 'Total work credit' columns did successfully upload a result in the last 40h.

I would really appreciate that this bug gets fixed as my waiting 10 results have less than 2 days till they are overtimed.

cu,
Michael

I was unaware of the changes you had made when you fixed the scheduler. I then found another post of yours in another thread and it explained the reason why my credit amounts have changed.
