Since the credit testing has been done, what's to do ? I think we are testing new WU whether they are causing troubles. I found the following from a Bakerlab employee in a now hidden post:

Seems we're testing something. It has an odd graphic and only 57 steps per model. My Celeron did 300 models in 4 hrs. PSH_0002_looprlx_129_137_0061_1304_4_0 Anyone know what it is? EDIT: Dr Baker just posted in his journal that it's work on possible AIDS vaccines. Excellent! |

So....are we testing anything now? If not, when will the next batch of testing happen? Reno, NV Team: SETI.USA |

>> The workunits that we run on our computers for Ralph, do the same amount of work that a Rosetta workunit does and will most likely be used under the Rosetta banner when stable on Ralph. My question :- Is the data that we process in Ralph used by the project? The workunits size, screensaver and results appear to be the same. If so, are workunits that produce results and/or almost complete before a problem steps in, granted credit for the work done? I hadn't taken a lot of notice before and in a posting back in Feburary under FAQ it was stated that no credit is given. Has this policy changed? In a recent batch I had 16 of 19 give an error with only minutes left before the workunits were due to complete. This then invalidated them, as the work was almost done and results were produced is credit granted for this work? If no credit is given that is a lot of time spent processing for no return, 16 wu's x 5.5 (average time the wu's ran in hours) = 88 hours of processing time. I know it is the test project for Rosetta, but with this many errors and lost production then maybe I should cut back on Ralph and increase Rosetta where at least I believe I will get credit for work done? How can the credit system be different in Ralph than Rosetta if Ralph is the Rosetta test project, what works in Ralph should work in Rosetta not the other way round, in other words they should be the same. Thanks for your time, I have had a bit of a rant and feel a little better now. |

You don't have to worry anymore as the system has purged all the results so I no longer have any workunits to get the credits for. Still feel a bit cheated when the WU's had almost completed after nearly 6 hours then I get nothing as it has a fit and errors out. |

Conan, all of your WUs presently viewable received credit. In fact they all show successful completion too. If an error occured, there were still some successful models and you were awarded credit... perhaps in the daily run that grants credit to errored WUs. |

feet1st, thanks for the reply but I have yet to see any credit given for a failed WU on Ralph. They do on Rosetta but as far as I have seen not on this 'test' project. I was not granted any credit in the days that the WU's were in my queue, so unless they do it some other time (just prior to purging my work queue?) I did not get any cobblestones. Is the work we do in Ralph even used? Are they valid WU's that get added to research along with Rosetta data? |
