I know some people outside of bakerlabs are looking at the Rosetta@Home source code.

But who is looking at what and how are things coming along ?

I know Mats has talked about it. And seems to summarize that it is indeed a tough nut to crack. He's mentioned that L2 cache on processor is a key performance point. And hence predicts less throughput on systems with small L2 cache.
