This is a WARNING to those who run a few days cache on this project, or run tasks for more than 1 hour.

ALL the Ebolanator_ProteinInterfaceDesign_26Jun2012_18571 tasks appear to have been Cancelled !

However, because this project is running on an OUT OF DATE version on BOINC Server code, the cancellation of tasks has not been transmitted to Clients.

Please check your "In Progress" tasks and look for the words "errors Cancelled" under each WorkUnit details, (they don't appear under Task details).

If this project was running a current Server code version, instead of an obsolete version, then each time a Client makes contact with the server, it should Abort cancelled tasks.

I would appreciate feedback from Project Staff about this if they ever visit this forum.

Keith.

On many projects, the server code version is displayed on the Server Status Page.
e.g.
http://boincsimap.org/boincsimap/server_status.php Server software version: 25862
http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/server_status.php Server software version: 25137M
http://orbit.psi.edu/oah/server_status.php Server software version: 21289M
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/alpha/server_status.php Server software version: 23761M

BOINCStats has a list of most projects that also has this information http://boincstats.com/en/page/projectStatusInfo

RALPH and Rosetta don't display the server version, but there has been discussion in the past on Rosetta about old server code.

In Nov 2008 http:////boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=4496&nowrap=true#57030 rev # 14349.

And I don't think this applies to the curren tissue at all. I checked a couple dozen WUs that validated just fine before this nonsense started and they all showed "cancelled" in the WU info...

But looks like the admins just don't f'ing care either way... :-(

i know, sometimes it's frustrating.
The only admin that write on the forum is Rocco Moretti, but he is alone and, i think, he haven't so much time.
I hope, at least, that Ralph's team read our messages and that they use WELL our bug reports
