The new version (v1.12) is now released. Post bugs here!

Hello James,
I'm sorry I have to tell you that 2 Minirosetta's v.1.12 errored out on my PC.
Task ID 917137 & Task ID 917106
I'm using Boinc 5.10.45, Ubuntu 7.10, one-core AMD sempron 3000+, 1.8 G Hz., 1.4 GB RAM.

Edit: The 2 v1.12 had the same error I had before on v1.10 & 1.11, running Linux.

Have a nice day,

Hello all,
Allowed work on Linux x86 and also received a Minirosetta 1.11.
I hope http://ralph.bakerlab.org/apps.php
will be up to date when the 1.12 are actually available.

We've tracked down the linux problem and think it has to do with the boinc libraries and not the mini executable.

Hopefully update v. 1.12 will fix this

Hello Robert,

Many thanks for the update.
I'm looking forward to the Linux MiniRosetta 1.12.

Have a nice day,

Hello all,
For the third day I've downloaded a Ralph WU and tried to let it crunch on my Linux (Ubuntu 7.10) computer.
The Rosetta mini 1.10 again error-ed out with process exited with code 1 (0x1, -255), zip.ZIP error, as mentioned above.

I can imagine the tench's are quiet busy these days, however it would nice to see a announcement to tell us Linux users when a reliable (Linux-)WU can be downloaded.

I'm interested in what Wu's will come up the next days,
Path7.

Hello, thanks for warning,

Also having the process exited with code 1 (0x1, -255).
Computer ID 13238, AMD Sempron 3000+, Ubuntu 7.10, Boinc 5.10.45.

I've reset the project after 2 failed WU's, with no result at all.
After 4 failed WU's I've decided to temporally stop downloading new Ralph work.

Edit: I've rebooted my dual-boot machine and now running Windows XP-home, Boinc 5.10.45, (still Sempron 3000+).
The Rosetta Mini 1.10 has already crunched 10 minutes, much longer than on Linux.
I guess the lately reported errors are a Linux application issue.

Hello caesar1987,

Wondering whether this is an exception to the rule or a common problem.
I've only received non-symmetric 5.96's at R@h so far.

52) Message boards : Feedback : Memory usage MiniR 1.09 graphics (Message 3836)
Posted 23 Mar 2008 by Path7
Post:
Hello all,
From the last MiniRosetta 1.09 my computer ran, I was reading the memory usage of the MiniRosetta graphics. I was surprised to see that it was using 10 % CPU in Windows Task Manager.
Well I need to tell my computer uses the ”Via/SG3 Unichrome Pro IGP” embedded graphics, which uses the CPU for its calculations.

I'm using a one core AMD sempron 3000+ 1.8 G Hz, 1.4 GB Ram.
I'm wondering if someone else looked for the memory usage of the MiniRosetta graphics, to make (any) comparison.

Have a nice day,

Hello to all readers,

My last 1.09: WU score13_hb_envtest62_A_1scjB_3394_2757_0
http://ralph.bakerlab.org/result.php?resultid=837840
ran fine & validated ok, however the message rapport from Boinc showed this:

19-3-2008 0:19:44|ralph@home|If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project.
19-3-2008 0:19:44|ralph@home|Restarting task score13_hb_envtest62_A_1scjB_3394_2757_0 using minirosetta version 109

Yes I did use the show graphic tab, and the text going with the graphics showed: not responding. The graphics seems to freeze for a second. I closed the graphics and the next moment the 1.09 was reported finished.

Good luck crunching Ralph,

Is it just me or does the new mini-Rosetta (1.08 vs. 1.07) seem to stall at 0% for about 20-30 minutes (while using 100% CPU), and thereafter quickly progress?

Hello Harrison Neal,
Saw the same: mini-Rosetta 1.08 seems to stall (or initializing) at 0 % for about 12 minutes.
The 1.07 did the same for about 2 or 5 minutes, on my machine.
I'm running Windows XP home on a one core AMD sempron 3000+, 1.8 G Hz.

56) Message boards : Number crunching : Minirosetta credits (Message 3745)
Posted 16 Feb 2008 by Path7
Post:
Hello all,
Just a newbie at Ralph@home, I have done 8 Wu's so far.
These minirosetta's ran fine, but generated relatively few credits.
It's not I am concerned about my own credits that much (after all this is alpha). But people at Rosetta@home might be disappointed.
Last 8 minirosetta 1.07 average: 5.37 points / hour.
Last 8 Rosetta beta 5.93 average: 9.39 points / hour. (From rosetta@home)
Since I saw the same lower points while crunching minirosetta at rosetta@home / longer runtime I am expecting the points are not lower due to the lower preference runtime at Ralph.
I'm running Windows XP – home on a one-core AMD sempron 3000+ 1.8 G Hz, 1.4 GB RAM.
Somebody else having the same credit experience?

Have a nice day,
Path7.
