This is indeed a strange bug, which seems to be related to graphics, but not all graphics. My P4 1.8 with S3 onboard video doesn't have any errors with 5.16. My AMD 64 3700, 1 M ram, with a PCI-Express Asus EN6200TC256 video card does have problems. I've listed part of my results page below. the errors where while the screensaver was running. The one success early on was when the machine was in constant use. The other success came after I turned off the screensaver in windows.

hey fuzzy,

It seems these boards were slow, so I figured I'd ask.

they reason I'm curious is that my taskbar fits 6 pages without tiling on top of eachother. This means I can monitor 6 boards. It seems that ralph is not one of the more posted to boards (for good reasons). Instead of clicking on it and refreshing a boatload of times/day only to see no posts. maybe I should put a different project in it's spot. I ofcourse would be dropping by, but it wouldn't have a "full time" spot. Two of my three monitors are used for work from 6 am (ish) till 4:30/5. I leave this one to see who needs help. Although on many days this one has two of it's six spots also displaying work stuff.

it doesn't appear, that many read these boards, or maybe they're just too busy/ignoring the cafe to respond.

OK, I've gotten one more. I think I might see a pattern to some extent. of both the 5.12's and 5.16's that I've had the windows fault on, each time it involved my screensaver running at the time. Is anyone else seeing this?? wus I've run while awake and using this puter have been done successfully.

anyway, here's last nites faulty wu

Hi, I'm wondering how many people are really reading these Ralph fora. Stop by post a note, say "HI". Technically, you could post a blank message and that'd be OK with me too.

thanks

this wu just went to screensaver, and I captured the following progression.

Notice how the middle pic looks right? If I change it from full to min, it also looks right.

Here's a follow up on the WU from the middle pic below/above. Now the bottom is missing info. I stopped staring at it, and after the screensaver kicked in, I moved
the mouse. The "full sized" display that was showing was now, magically shown as a "minimized" box, I opened the box back to "full" and.....
Do'h I forgot to resize it.
Note: this did not occur with the WU from the third pic when it went to screensaver and then back to a minimized display. It's got to be something about that particular
version, version types?.

The first two pics of my last post were taken from the same puter. I managed to get the first one as it was finishing. I took the second one after it started
the new wu. Both were captured using "show graphics" and set to full display.

P.S sorry for breaking the forum, you may delete the pics after they've been helpful. As you can see from the last pic, I figured out how to make them smaller

I noticed the goofy graphics. I also noticed that it's not universally 5.12. the 5.12 AB_CASP6 WU don't seem to have the problem. I don't have a list of the ones that do show problems, but I'll start a log. I might even capture a pic. If I have any 5.12 left, that is.

tony

Notice, my screen is set to full, not minimized.

then see this WU where everything seems normal at the bottom, but look at "accepted energy" analog display is out of the box. Also, note the single line of text beneath it. If more lines occur later, I'll repost a new pic of this wu.

And this one seems OK as well.

Anyone else having trouble with the system locking while running tha Ralph 5.09 beta version? My preferences specify to suspend on activity, but system stays locked. Anything I should try??

Neal. (No fancy images)

I've been wondering too, if the ralph app is fully releasing (i.e closing down) immediately or if it takes some time to get to a point where it can checkpoint, before releasing. Sorry, I have no further info on this.

P.S if you click "reply to this post" you can just copy and paste the bbcode into your "forum preferences", so you CAN have a "fancy image". Unless you meant the avatar on the left
