21) Message boards : Current tests : No more units (Message 3810)

This morning, at the usual 8am GMT update time, I didn't get any units. As my Core 2 Duo eats the 40 WU limit per host in about 20 hrs I'm always waiting at 8am for the new allocation.

Is this the end of the recent great run of WU's? Can we expect more in the near future? Could the limit per host be relaxed slightly? About 50 would cover me.

PS I'm running a Core 2 Duo 2.2 overclocked to 3.3, 4 GB RAM and running Vista 64

This current run of WU's is making such a difference to everybody at the moment. Even little teams like ours are rocketing up the charts. The addition of a couple of new 'Duo's' help though ;)

We are Team Evo - a small family group of 4 Scots who do what we can at several projects. Despite only having 3 members working on Ralph, we regularly hit the #1 spot for UK teams daily throughput with all three in the top ten members daily throughput. We predict that, if the work keeps flowing, we can be #3 in the UK and possibly a top 50 team in the world.

Any teamless member who would like to boost our figures would be more than welcome. Although we are all Scots, all nationalities are welcome and any project we run will do.

To all other teams/members:- Keep up the good work folks, you know we make a difference.

I've had 7 'Computation Errors' in the last couple of days too. They report a client error and grant 0 credit.

The affected results ID's are:- 524262 524263 524220 524165 524163 524121 522749

Any chance someone could look into this problem and get back to us.

I got an error for this workunit. Here's what my BOINC client logged about the error:

5/22/2007 5:56:27 PM|ralph@home|Deferring communication for 1 min 0 sec
5/22/2007 5:56:27 PM|ralph@home|Reason: Unrecoverable error for result CNTRL_01RELAXNATIVE_SAVE_ALL_OUT_-1n0u_-_2064_9_0 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005))

The odd thing is, after it was done, my firewall told me that the Ralph application needed to access the internet. According to my firewall's logs, it sent back a couple of megabytes worth of information to the Ralph server after I clicked to allow internet access for the Ralph application. I've noticed that sometimes Ralph (and Rosetta, for that matter) workunits will oddly need to send back tons of data to the server if there is an error and the workunit has to stop. Is this because BOINC otherwise won't send back any data if the workunit errors out, and the Rosetta/Ralph admins want to see more error data than BOINC sends back?

Glad it's not just me! Waited 2.5 hrs with 14 'No work from project' messages returned already. In one way it's good we are getting enough volunteers but, on the other hand, please can we have some more work units made available.

I'm running it split 50/50 with rosetta@home, will it automatically keep returning to rosetta units till it finds some work from Ralph? I'd hate my PC to sit doing nothing just because there is no work available from one of the projects.

I signed up for Ralph at 15:33 GMT today and during the 2.5 hrs since then my client has requested work 14 times and each time it gives me the same message 'No work from project'.

Is there a problem with the server? Each time it requests work it returns the message 'Scheduler request to http://ralph.bakerlab.org/ralph_cgi/cgi succeeded' which is immediately followed by the 'No work from project' message'
