Should I have my Linux machine attach to RALPH? (I've already joined the beta via WinXP) There is work going out to linux machines, and there is a beta app for linux to crunch them. I got two WUs today. |

Most Definetly Linux, Myself,I run a Linux O.S. and signed up yesterday for Ralph. The work will keep running-out once and a while .I have received 2 w/u today and seems no-more are qued - up {in the main page} and I am also getting "no work from" the project.Rosetta have always been there at the posts{scietists and Moderators} and would imagine the same for this experiment.Seeing as it will help Rosey. That is the reason I added the extra Ram to this Box and blew my M.B."The trials and tribulations of crunching". Happy Crunching to all Doug Sluger Worrall |

good, however all are kernel 2.6.x none of yours has kernel 2.4.x The computer I have on ralph uses SuSE Linux kernel 2.4.20-4GB-athlon. I haven't had any problems except for not being able to get work (only 2 WUs so far, both successfully crunched). On rosetta I have 10 computers using Linux kernel 2.4.31-gentoo-r1. I would estimate that they fail to successfully crunch a WU less than one time in 1000 (ignoring the WUs that nobody can crunch, and a brief period when all machines got download errors when trying to get work.) |
