I have posted about it on the BOINC forums

Post:
On many projects, the server code version is displayed on the Server Status Page.
e.g.
http://boincsimap.org/boincsimap/server_status.php Server software version: 25862
http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/server_status.php Server software version: 25137M
http://orbit.psi.edu/oah/server_status.php Server software version: 21289M
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/alpha/server_status.php Server software version: 23761M

BOINCStats has a list of most projects that also has this information http://boincstats.com/en/page/projectStatusInfo

RALPH and Rosetta don't display the server version, but there has been discussion in the past on Rosetta about old server code.

In Nov 2008 http:////boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=4496&nowrap=true#57030 rev # 14349.

Just checked and every Work Unit still in progress has been cancelled, so if I process them they will get Validate errors.

Usually if the project cancels a work unit it will be cancelled on the volunteers computer as well and then it wont get processed and waste CPU time.

Not the case here...

This project is running an Obsolete version of BOINC server code.

I have posted about this in NC forum.
4) Message boards : Number crunching : WARNING, Tasks Cancelled. (Message 5554)
Posted 10 Jul 2012 by Keith T.
Post:
This is a WARNING to those who run a few days cache on this project, or run tasks for more than 1 hour.

ALL the Ebolanator_ProteinInterfaceDesign_26Jun2012_18571 tasks appear to have been Cancelled !

However, because this project is running on an OUT OF DATE version on BOINC Server code, the cancellation of tasks has not been transmitted to Clients.

Please check your "In Progress" tasks and look for the words "errors Cancelled" under each WorkUnit details, (they don't appear under Task details).

If this project was running a current Server code version, instead of an obsolete version, then each time a Client makes contact with the server, it should Abort cancelled tasks.

I would appreciate feedback from Project Staff about this if they ever visit this forum.

6) Message boards : RALPH@home bug list : Why so many VALIDATE ERRORS? (Message 5050)
Posted 24 Jan 2010 by Keith T.
Post:
Most of my recent work is going to waste because of Validate Errors.

Some of these have been credited if they are re-sent to a partner that also gets a Validate Error.

As far as I know, there is nothing wrong with the work which my computer did:

Validate error The task was reported but could not be validated, typically because the output files were lost on the server.

http://ralph.bakerlab.org/explain_state.php?field=result_outcome

I have set "No New Tasks" until I get some news about why these are happening.

8) Message boards : Feedback : minirosetta_database_revNNNNN (Message 4109)
Posted 11 Jun 2008 by Keith T.
Post:
I have noticed that I currently have 3 different versions of minirosetta_database in my ralph.bakerlab.org folder.

minirosetta_database_rev21566 13,688,048 bytes
minirosetta_database_rev22619 19,032,878 bytes
minirosetta_database_rev23035 18,997,237 bytes

I also have

minirosetta_database_rev20412 13,164,754 bytes
minirosetta_database_rev21566 13,688,048 bytes

in my boinc.bakerlab.org_rosetta folder.

My questions are:

Do I need all these different versions of the database?

As the files are used by Rosetta as well as RALPH, would it be possibe to have a folder something like "bakerlab_common" for those users who run both projects.

I am currently running on dial-up only, so download sizes are a consideration, as is unnecessary wasted space on my HDD.

score13_hb_envtest62_A_1opd__3299_1875_0 is currently Waiting to run with progress 100%. The task files are stil in the slot folder. Deadline is a few days away, so I will see how it goes. Run time so far is 3:10:57. My Target CPU run time is 6 hours.

This is the only RALPH task currently on my system (I have tasks for 6 other projects on board at the moment.)

I eventually changed the CPU run time down to 4 hours from 8 to get the WU to finish before it's deadline. I did try exiting BOINC a few times as well. The WU was stuck on the 9th decoy and restarted the same one at least twice.

Post:
I just had 5.70 crash on one of my machines. What is worse, it brought up a dialog box indicating a thrown and uncaught exception. This dialog box effectively stopped BOINC. All exceptions should be caught at the topmost level, and used to generate an error message that is sent back to the project.

I had one of these too with 1otf__BOINC_SYMM_FOLD_AND_DOCK-1otf_-foldanddock__2186_3_0.
